Welcome to Cologne
Cologne is one of the largest and most popular cities in Germany. The fascinating Gothic Cathedral, the Rhine, the museums and numerous top events attract almost 120 million visitors every year. Most of them are greatly impressed by the “savoir vivre“, the residents like to radiate.
Declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998, the Cologne Cathedral is Germany’s number one attraction with more than six million visitors annually. From here almost all sights worth seeing can be reached by foot. These include the twelve Romanesque churches, truly outstanding examples of mediaeval church architecture and museums of worldwide importance, such as the Museum Ludwig and the Roman-Germanic Museum. Cologne’s sweetest museum variant is the Chocolate Museum.
Shopping streets, malls and arcades invite visitors to shop and take a break in the cosy cafés. The Old Town and the picturesque Rhine promenade are sprawling with typical colourful gable houses.
The Cologne way of life is inviting. The best thing is trying to find out what it really means: “Cologne is a feeling“.
